Brancusci

The truncated cones that form the body of this vase reminded me of the work of one of my favorite sculptors, Constantin Brancusi. Fired to 2381° F (nearly the melting point of steel!) for a lifetime of enduring strength and beauty, the Brancusi vase is sealed on the inside to be water-tight. This version is finished on the outside with black copper oxide, giving it an austere, matte surface that accentuates the texture of the clay.
